Non-Filed Tax Returns
Every day the massive computer center at the IRS is getting more sophisticated. And the IRS computer "talks" with the various state computers. It's just a matter of time before they catch up with you. Perhaps you've received a notice that says they have no record of your return being filed. Yet you know that you did file or, more importantly, you had no obligation to file. This is not a situation to take lightly. Failing to file your tax returns, if you are required to do so, is a criminal offense. If you are required to file but do not do so, you can be prosecuted and punished with potential jail time, one year for each year not filed. If you know you filed your tax return properly, or know you are not obligated to file, we can act on your behalf and show the taxing authority that they made a mistake. If, in fact, you do owe delinquent returns, let us give you the peace of mind you deserve by helping you get in compliance with the law. If you voluntarily file your delinquent returns you'll likely avoid further problems. If you wait for the IRS to file your returns for you, they are filed in the best interest of the government, usually with little or none of the deductions to which you are entitled. Before anything can be done to extract you from this predicament all the returns must be filed. You must be current. In most cases, you will likely owe taxes, interest, and penalties after the returns are filed. Or, you may find that you don't even owe any money. Filing the return properly can relieve you of potential liability because the return will be prepared based on the actual data provided, not just with the data the IRS or other authority has readily available. |
